Join Schroders and Benchmark for a special working lunch to mark 15 years of the Schroder Adviser Survey. Gillian Hepburn, Commercial Director at Benchmark, and Olivia Geldenhuys, Investment Director at Schroder Investment Solutions, will discuss how the landscape for advisers has changed over the years. They will reflect on the key challenges faced by advisers in the first survey compared to those in the latest 2024 survey conducted in November while also looking ahead to the trends and challenges that may emerge in 2025.

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

Understand the changing advice market and key challenges
Explain adviser and client views on the investment market in October/November 2024, how these have changed and future predictions
Discuss adviser sentiment on key topics such as Consumer Duty, wealth transfer, outsourcing investment propositions and use of technology such as AI

Olivia Geldenhuys

Investment Director, Schroder Investment Solutions

Olivia has worked with financial advisers since 2012 to support them in integrating a centralised investment proposition into their business. Her career began as a Client Service Specialist in South Africa where she later led the team. In 2018 Olivia moved to the UK to facilitate an expansion of the business into Europe and also coordinated global projects in the Product Office.

Olivia joined Schroder Investment Solutions in 2022 where she focuses on providing key information about the portfolio ranges and market views to the sales team and clients.

Olivia holds a BCom in Investment Management at the University of Pretoria in South Africa with an Honours in Financial Management. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Financial Planning.

Gillian Hepburn

Commercial Director, Benchmark Capital

Gillian has over 30 years’ experience in financial services and is currently Commercial Director at Benchmark Capital. She was previously Head of UK Intermediary Solutions at Schroders. Prior to joining Schroders, she had an extensive career at Standard Life followed by consultancy positions with a range of platform providers, asset managers and financial advisers.

Gillian is also on the advisory board for Women in Asset Servicing and was named as ‘Woman of the Year – Investment’ at the Professional Adviser Women in Finance awards 2021.
